Like many women in my age bracket (I'm 52), I'm fat, wrinkly, and ugly, and I would feel just ridiculous with any of these behaviors. Yes, they are subtler than the things you described as being more appropriate for 20-somethings, but they still seem pretty obvious to me. Men of any age, ironically regardless of their own attractiveness quotient, seem to judge by appearances and just sneer at women who don't meet their (usually unrealistic) standards. It only takes a few of these blatant putdowns before any kind of flirting becomes the equivalent of wearing a "kick me" sign. I would enjoy some male companionship, but not if the price is my dignity or self-esteem.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
